Content: This course traces the development of American literature from pre-colonial times to the present.  High-level language arts skills with special emphasis on interpreting and responding to literature will be included. Through the instruction of the essential curriculum, students will continue to develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and processes.

 

Assigned Textbooks:  Textbooks will be assigned to student and must be returned in good condition at the end of the course.  Lost or damaged books must be paid for prior to release of student grades.  Assigned texts may include: Language of Literature textbook, grammar workbook, and various novels including The Bean Trees, The Listening Woman, The Crucible, and/or The Scarlett Letter.
